Amazing they give her a funeral with 100 JWs in attendance even though she was apparently living a lie behind their backs and the Mesa family who were slaughtered by the Rapist father last month get absolutely nothing. Is that because the Aussie had some $ that the WT wanted to get their grubby hands on but on the other hand the Mesa's were poor?

They are worse than JW's to me, thinking they have an inside track to god and that if you don't agree with them, you are condemned to hell.
Disgusting.
I don't apologize for my feelings either.
Worse than JWs because they think they have the inside track to God? Just what do you think JWs and the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses think?
If you don't agree with the WT publications then not only are you doomed to die an unspeakably horrible death at Armageddon but you are shunned by your peers and your own family daily. If a JW sodomizes a child but still continues to tout the WT publications he is allowed to remain but the child who is sodomized is ostrasized and treated like the diseased individual because their faith has been shaken by the abuse and elders interrogations. I wonder do the Born Again Christians do that too?

Why don't we as ex-jws denounce the wrongdoings of the churches the same way we do the Watchtower. I think my friend made a very good point. What are your thoughts on this posters?
I have heard this arguement from WT apologists as well. The answer is quite simple:
People will devote more time commenting on what is personal to them. For example: This board is full of comments on local politics. You don't see an American giving equal time to discussing Russian politics. Another example: When the scandal in the Catholic church broke regarding sexual abuse in Boston there were victims and lawyers on 60 minutes. Did you see them saying in the interview "Hold on now let's make sure we give equal time in our 60 minute interview to discussing sexual abuse in other religions."
The notion and reasoning that ex JWs should spend as much time discussing other religious scandals when they are more qualified to specifically discuss the abuse in their own JW background is nonsensical and diversionary. The notion that just because ex JWs spend time giving personal testimony or opinions of abuse in their own JW background, they are therefor completely ignorant to abuse elsewhere is a patently untrue statement designed to smear ex JWs. It's a cult mentality and a maliious mind that conjures up these types of diversionary tactical statements. Worse still, it is the sociopathic mind that cries "foul" when their victims fight back. Sorry if this is a strong statement but this type of BS smearing was happening alot on the silentlambs website by JWs and it really pisses me off.
With regard to you personally attending a church where there are scandals...that's you choice. I personally couldn't do it without taking a stand for what is right or alternatively leaving.

YOU ARE A LIAR!
by Terry inwhat do you lie about repeatedly?.
what is your biggest lie you ever told?.
what is the worst?.
-
Happy Guy :)
I suppose you could say I lied when I made wedding vows and then got divorced.
Sometimes I tell my kids I don't have any money when I really do.
These would apply to me as well.
What do you lie about repeatedly? That if a eat (chocolate) deserts it won't hurt my waistline.
Why? Because I love chocolate.
What is your biggest lie you ever told? Telling my kids that my ex loved them and would not hurt them. In reality I knew there was a high probability that she could and would hurt them....and she did. What is the worst? Same as the previous.
How do you react when you find out somebody you trust has lied to you? Surprised and disappointed.
Are there acceptable lies? Yes

What Makes You Feel Loved?
by Corvin inwhat does it take in order for you to feel absolutely loved by your significant other?
do they have to talk to you in a certain tone?.
do they have to touch you in a certain way?.
-
Happy Guy :)
What does it take in order for you to feel absolutely loved by your significant other?
For me it's true that the glances, touches and tone and substance of dialogue are nice but the thing that is most significant is knowing that my partner is being thoughtful and considerate of me when I am not in her prescence. For example: Knowing that, in my absence, my partner is thinking of me and including me in her plans shows me more than anything else that I am absolutley loved and appreciated. It's moments like getting that phone call at work just to say a quick "Hello, I miss you and I'm thinking of you." or receiving an email invitation at work for a "dinner and a movie date" (romantic efforts).

You mean "THE TRUTH" don't you!!!!!!
by Poztate ini got into trouble with my wife again.
she had just come home from a one day c.a.
and felt the "need" to share with me.

Has the CULT programing become so deep that all good dubs react in this fashion without even thinking why?
It's been like this for a loooong time poztate. For some people (and I am not necessarily referring to your wife), the cult thinking is the glue that holds them together. Good luck.

Creation or Evolution?
by JH in.
i guess i'll always believe in god and his creation no matter what.. how about you, which side do you lean on...creation or evolution?
-
Happy Guy :)
I believe that a higher power/force a.k.a. God created the universe.
I believe that life forms on Earth have evolved over millions of years.
I believe God may or may not have intervened in evolution as it occured.

JW are instructed to perjure themselves in Nov 15 WT
by ezekiel3 inin the watchtower november 15, 2004 article "the tent of the upright ones will flourish" pg 28, the old policy of "theocratic warfare" is freshly confirmed.. remember that in us courts (a principle that mosts for most of the world's courts), a witness swears to tell "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
" it is recognized that withholding information would be the equivalent of lying or perjury.. what are jws instructed to do?
my comments are in red.the faithful witness does not commit perjury when testifying.
